Weatherizing Your Wellness for Winter

With the change of the seasons, it stands to reason that we should put thought into changes we can make that will help us continue our wellness journey through winter. We’ve got some great tips to help you prepare!

  1. Your Exercise Routine

With winter looming, it can be easy to slip into hibernation mode and start to slack on your exercise. If you live in snowy climes, it may be more difficult to get to the gym. Plan how you’d best like to keep to your regimen. If you know you’ll be less likely to get to the gym, start planning work out a work-out routine for home!  Try to keep your routine to the  same time you’d work out in the summer. Continuity is key!

  1. Hit the Sauna

When it’s bone-cold outside, step into a sauna to boost your health and wellness. It’ll help you warm up, relax, sleep better, detox, and strengthen your heart muscle!

  1. Curb the Carbs

As tempting as it is to make and eat carb-heavy holiday foods, planning healthy, mindful meals can be a chance to flex your culinary skills and play with delicious flavors like squash, mushrooms, pears and more.

  1. Take Supplements

With health experts expressing extra concern over flu season this year, give your immune system an extra boost by adding Vitamin D3, Magnesuim, Omega-3, and a B-complex for best results.

  1. Herbal Teas

Instead of switching your iced coffee to hot, make the switch to herbal teas and enjoy the added health benefits as you sip on flavorful, sweet teas!

  1. Stay Hydrated

It’s important to keep hydrated, even if you’re sweating less. The body loses a lot of fluid and many people forget to refill their water bottles as frequently.

  1. Wash Your Hands

Stop the spread of cold, flu and Covid by washing hands frequently and thoroughly.

  1. Air Quality

It’s hard to open the windows and let the fresh air in when snow is drifting down in sheets. Air quality can take a dive if you’re not careful! Replace your air filters, vacuum twice weekly, and make sure you’re still getting quality time outside!
